Optional Classes
H&L’s partner academies in the Philippines offer monthly English programs such as ESL, IELTS, and TOEIC. In addition to regular classes, students have the option to enroll in various optional classes if they wish to further enhance their skills.
Optional classes are available daily from 5:10 PM to 7:30 PM.
- Listening Class: Enhances listening skills through engaging topics and activities, while also preparing students for the TOEIC listening section. Students practice dictation and develop comprehension skills through fun challenges.
- Pop Music Listening Class: Provides opportunities to develop the four basic language skills—listening, reading, speaking, and writing—by engaging with popular music.
- Eloquent Vocabulary (Levels 1-3): Helps beginner students recall and use vocabulary eloquently through interactive class activities.
- Eloquent Vocabulary (Level 4 and above): Develops students’ English skills with intermediate and advanced vocabulary, offering a broader range of words for effective self-expression.
- Reading Aloud: Aims to reduce students’ accents to sound more like native speakers and boost their confidence when reading passages aloud.
- Speaking Class: Focuses on improving oral communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction.
- Guitar Class: Teaches students basic guitar chords and progresses to playing various songs throughout the program.
- Zumba Class: Combines dance and aerobic movements performed to energetic music for physical fitness and fun.
- Monitored Self-Study: Provides a supervised self-review session where students can ask teachers for clarification and guidance.
- Diary and Vocabulary Class (Juniors): Encourages creative and strategic writing through guided topics and vocabulary sets. Students aim to reach a specific word count while being monitored by a teacher during diary writing.
